Edward has studied Traditional Chinese Martial Arts since 1990, with a background in Wing Chun but also studying Bak Mei, Hung Kuen and Gung Jinn Kuen.
Having been fortunate enough to study under many very good teachers Edward discovered Southern Mantis in 1994 and, feeling a strong affinity with this system sought out a Traditional Sifu who was able to teach the internal side (and willing to teach it to a non-Chinese person). After training with many of the Southern Mantis Teachers across the UK he settled with Sifu Mark Leung, whose focus on the internal side was precisely what he had been seeking for many years.

Edward has been a student under Sifu Mark Leung since 2001 and now teaches a small select study group in Lisbon under the umbrella of SMMAA, returning to London regularly for further training and improvement.
